The Bel Esprit Cultural Institute collaborated with Team LGA Change the World to bring over 700 backpacks filled with school supplies for the 2016-17 academic year to children across Haiti through Operation HOPE.

On Wednesday, February 22, we surprised a group of 65 children in Ravine à Couleuvres

in the Artibonite Department at approximately 11 am. The children had absolutely no idea that we were coming. The look on their faces is an experience that we can never forget. Once again the message to these Beautiful Spirits was: "You were NOT expecting to receive these gifts today. We surprised you for a reason. The lesson is to never, ever lose your hope. You can do anything you set your mind to do!" Words can not express the joy exchanged in giving and receiving.

The village of Ravine-à-Couleuvres is 130 kilometers outside of Port-Au-Prince, in the Artibonite region of Haiti. Ravine-à-Couleuvres was the scene of one of Toussaint Louverture's last battles against the French army.
