Operation HOPE
Operation HOPE-- December 2016
December 01, 2016
On Thursday, December 1, 2016, we surprised TWO groups of children-- one in Bourdon at approximately 9 am, and the other in Kalouhou at approximately 3:00 pm. Once again the message to these Beautiful Spirits was: "You were NOT expecting to receive these gifts today. We surprised you for a reason. The lesson is to never, ever lose your hope. You can do anything you set your mind to do!" Words can not express the joy exchanged in giving and receiving.
The borough of Bourdon is situated between the center of Port Au Prince and Petionville, Haiti.
The village of Kalouhou is a communal section in the city of Arcahaie, approximately three hours from Haiti's capital of Port Au Prince. The community lives in extreme poverty, depending on the few crops that they produce for their everyday needs. The village did not have its own school until August of 2016. As you can image, school falls second to meeting the basic needs of food and shelter.
